Assisting our client, a national financial services company, in implementing a nine-month leadership development program for 100+ director-level associates. Because the majority of the program would be conducted virtually, our client wanted to maximize the select in-person learning experiences, in which each full cohort would come together for a one-day summit.
- Developed a set of interactive educational activities focused on:
- Strengthening relationships across the cohort
- Providing peer-to-peer learning opportunities
- Integrating learnings to date
- Generating big picture insights on what it means to be a leader in their organization.
- Implemented use of Collaborative Learning Maps™ (CLMs): large tabletop exercises which combine adult learning techniques, interactive activities, and engaging visuals. CLMs create a collaborative experience where participants:
- Engage with one another in small teams to broaden and deepen understanding
- Contextualize learnings to date
- Identify real-world applications for growth mindset
- Define successful leadership based on organization’s leadership behavior pillars
- Consider what will be required of leaders in the future
- Engaged participants in a facilitated full-group activity in which they self-identified specific areas of strength and challenge in order to pair off with other leaders to mentor and learn from one another
- Contributed to success of leadership program which dramatically impacted promotion rates for directors within the company
- Directors who participated in the overall program demonstrated broad, strategic thinking and deep understanding of the organization’s leadership values and behaviors
- Participants in program demonstrate high-levels of collaboration
- Cohorts continue to meet two years afterwards
