Our overriding topic of discussion for the Shell Urbanization team was, “How will we power the cities of the future?”

On day one we started with a scan question, “How do you save energy?”

We had a few Urbanization team meetings outside with our great facilitator, Luis.

One theme that we kept returning to was, “How do we create a culture of pride around energy efficiency/conservation?”

Kiel Johnson built an amazing model city on day one and we decided to use it for our project.

Our team used little LED lights, some crank power, and teamed up with Laurence Kemball-Cook who created Pavegen, a small platform that creates power when you jump on it.

So in the end, our team designed a model city powered by human energy, we dubbed it “TEDrock.”
